A comprehensive assessment is essential in order to understand a child’s strengths and areas of challenge. Completing a detailed assessment involves different components including gathering background information, completion of functional questionnaires, clinical observations usually within the education setting of which the child attends and standardised assessment.

Rhona is qualified to use a range of standardised assessments to assess pre-handwriting and handwriting skills, motor coordination, self-care skills, visual perception, and sensory based assessments including the “gold standard” assessment of sensory integration and praxis, the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT).

An assessment report will be produced and will inform any recommendations for intervention.
